ABOUT OUR CHURCH

Located in beautiful Bethlehem, Appalachee Shoals Baptist Church offers congregants a place of comfort, hope, and a peace of mind for all their worshipping needs. We are dedicated to spreading the teachings of Jesus Christ, and our goal is to inspire you through the holiness of our dwelling and our services. We invite you to become a part of our growing congregation, and look forward to meeting you!

OUR HISTORY

The Appalachee Shoals Missionary Baptist Church is rich and beautiful. Our legacy began in 1872 with two men and four women. The men were Brother Ellis Kilgore and Mr. George Griffin as clerk. The four women were Sister Sallie Mackroy Hampton, Sister Carolina Harris Latimore, Sister Moriah Kilgore Sanders, and Sister Carolina Still Culbreth. Reverend Adam Bell was the founding pastor and served until 1879. Brother Ellis Kilgore was the first deacon ordained and was a supporter of Reverend Adam Bell.

Since our beginning we have had five other pastors:

Reverend Burel Sanders 1880-1885

Reverend Blake Locklin 1886-1888

Reverend Harrison Vincent 1889-1946

Reverend B.Z. Daniels 1947-2007

Reverend Terry Porter 2008-2019

Reverend Thomas I. Shanon 2020- Present

Reverend B.Z. Daniels was faithfully serving the Appalachee Shoals Church Family starting in August 1947 for 60 plus years, when Reverend Vincent became ill and was called home. Reverend Daniels was elected pastor of our great church in February 1947. Reverend Daniels was called home to Glory on July 7, 2007.

The church is currently under the leadership of Pastor Thomas I. Shannon and continues to thrive under his leadership

CALL TO SALVATION

Placing You On the Path of Salvation

What is Salvation?

Salvation is simply believing that Jesus came to the Earth to die for our sins. The sacrificial death of Jesus "Saves" us from eternal death, hell, and sin. It unites us back with God! Salvation gives us the promises of Jesus on Earth and promises us we will live with him when we leave Earth.

What Must I Do to Be Saved

Romans 10:9
States "That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (NJKV)

John 3:16 States "For God so Loved the World that He gave His only Begotten son that Who so ever Believe in Him Shall not perish but have everlasting Life.(KJV)

Salvation is easy as the ABC'

Accept Christ as your Savior
Believe He rose from the Grave
Confess your Sins
